Pi Pa Ye (Zhi) 炙枇杷叶

General Functions and indications: Clear the lung heat, stop cough, depress abnormal rising of qi arrest vomiting. Used for lung heat, cough, abnormal rising of qi, rapid respiration, Stomach heat, retching and hiccup, dysphoria with thirst.

Pi Pa Ye (Zhi) 炙枇杷叶 Uncooked it clears the lungs, downbears counterflow of qi, stops cough. Once processed it moistens the lungs, stops cough. It can be used for cough due to either lung dryness caused by attack of external heat or dryness with dry cough, little or no mucus, phlegm streaked with blood, dry throat. Lung yin and qi def with weak cough, shortness of breath, dry throat, fatigue, thirst.
