Properties: Salty, Slightly Cold.

Functions and indications: tranquilize and calm the mind, restrain yang, tonify yin, soften and resolve hard masses. Used for palpitations due to fright insomnia, vertigo tinnitus, scrofula phlegm cough, abdominal mass and lumps.

煅牡蛎 Duan Mu Li astringe and bring together, resolves hyperacidity and pain. Used for spontaneous and excessive sweating night sweating, spermatorrhoea, uterine bleeding abnormal vaginal discharge, Stomach pain acid regurgitation. Adds a drying quality so that it restrains and inhibits sweating, secures the essence and stops vaginal discharge, may also expel turbid dampness and inhibits deficient sweating
