General Functions and indications: disperse the Liver, alleviate depression, regulate qi, relieve epigastric distention, regulate menstruation, Relieve pain. Used for Liver depression qi stagnation, painful distension over hypochondrium, herniation pain, breast distending pain, Spleen Stomach qi stagnation, abdomen bloating, abdominal distension and pain, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, painful periods.
Xiang Fu (Cu) 香附(醋) Uncooked Rectifies the qi, resolves depression. Once processed it Drains the liver, regulates the menses, stops pain, disperse food stagnation. Used for Epigastric and abdominal pain due to stagnation of qi and cold. Inguinal hernia, maladies of the scrotum or testicles due to qi stagnation and cold in the liver channel with swelling and distention of the scrotum, pain in the lower abdomen aggravated by cold and radiating to the testicles, inguinal hernia. Dysmenorrhea , irregular menstruation due to liver qi stagnation or disharmony between the qi and blood with menstrual irregularity, premenstraul syndrome. Food stagnation with epigastric and abdominal distention, nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite.
