Zhi Ke (Chao)/ Zhi Qiao 炒枳壳
Properties: Bitter, Pungent, Sour, Slightly Cold

General Functions and indications: regulate qi relieve epigastric distention, remove stagnation and distention. Used for chest and hypochondrium, qi stagnation, abdominal distension pain, food stagnation, phlegm retention internally, prolapse organs. (more gentle than Zhi Shi, best for regulating qi)
Zhi Ke (Chao)/ Zhi Qiao 炒枳壳 uncooked raw breaks qi stagnation, scatters nodulations, disperses distention. Once processed it Rectifies the qi, disperses food stagnation. Used for Food stangaiton with epigastric and abdominal pain and distention, loss of appetite. Regurgitation, eructation due to either disharmony of the stomach accompanied by deficiency in the spleens function of transportation and transformation with loss of appetite or spleen and stomach deficiency.
Usage and dosage: 3-10g.
