General Functions and indications: cool the blood, stop bleeding, resolve dampness, stop cough, hair growth. Used for vomiting blood, nose bleeding, spitting of blood, blood in stool, uterine bleeding, lung heat cough, blood heat hair loss, early white hair.

侧柏炭 Ce Bai Tan reduced ability to cool the blood, but also enhances its ability to stop bleeding. It does less damage to Spleen and Stomach in this form. It astringes the blood, stops bleeding. It can be used for Hematemesis due to heat in the blood or cold in the blood. Hemoptysis due to heat damaging the network of vessels of the lungs. Epistaxis due to lung heat damaging the vessels of the nose. Bloody stools, bleeding hemorrhoids due to damp heat damaging the vessels of the intestines. Hematuria due to damp heat damaging the vessels of the bladder. Metrorrhagia due to heat disturbing the chong and ren.

Usage and dosage: 6-12g. For external use in appropriate amounts.
