Di Yu Tan 地榆炭

General Functions and indications: cool the blood stop bleeding, clears toxicity, promote wound healing. Used for blood in stool, haemorrhoid bleeding, dysentery with blood, uterine bleeding, scalding damage, carbuncles and abscesses due to toxin.

地榆炭 Di Yu Tan has a greater inhibiting and restraining nature, making it much stronger at stopping bleeding. Primarily cools the blood and stops bleeding. It can be used for bloody stools, bleeding hemorrhoids due to heat in the blood or damp heat in the lower jiao with bright red blood. Hematuria, stranguria with hematuria due to accumulation of damp heat in the bladder. Metrorrhagia due to heat disturbing the chong and ren with bleeding of bright red blood. Chronic purulent eczema.

Usage and dosage: 9-15g. For external use in appropriate amounts, grind and apply to affected area.
