Huang Bai (Chuan) 黄柏(川）

Properties: Bitter, Cold.

Channels: Kidney, Bladder

Functions and Indications: Clearing heat and dampness, removing fire and bone steaming, eliminate toxins and healing sores. It is used for damp-heat diarrhoea and dysentery, jaundice and dark urine, leukorrhea and pruritus at the vulva, heat stranguria, impotence in the feet, bone steam and tidal heat, night sweating, spermatorrhoea, sores and swelling, eczema and damp sores.

盐黄柏 Salted huang bai nourishes yin and reduces fire. It is used for Yin deficiency and reliving fire, night sweating and bone steam.

Usage and dosage: 3-12 g. For external use in appropriate amounts.
