Properties: Sweet, Slightly Warm.

Functions and indications: nourish qi raise yang, strengthen the superficial, suppress sweating, induce diuresis to alleviate oedema, produce body fluid, nourish the blood, unblock qi stagnation and reduce the inflammation on joints, pus draining and toxin expelling, promote wound healing and the regeneration of tissue. used for qi deficiency lack of strength, eating less loose stools, sinking of middle jiao qi, chronic diarrhoea anal prolapse, blood in stool uterine bleeding, exterior deficiency, spontaneous and excessive sweating, qi deficiency oedema, internal heat thirst, blood deficiency, chlorosis (iron deficiency underlying), palsy of one side, numbness of the joints and muscles, abscess hard to rupture, infections or wounds unable to heal for a long period.
