General Functions and indications: promote digestion, calm adverse rising qi, resolve dampness. Used for food stagnation, abdomen distending pain, constipation, food stagnation dysentery, accumulation of phlegm, cough and wheezing.

Lai Fu Zi (Chao) 炒莱菔子 uncooked, transforms phlegm and downbears counterflow qi. Once proceed it Disperses food stagnation, eliminates distention, transforms phlegm. It is used for Food stagnation with fullness in the chest and epigastrium, pain and distention of the abdomen, foetid eructations, acid vomiting or vomiting of undigested food. Abdominal distention due to chronic stagnation of qi and food with fullness in the epigastrium and abdomen, eructation, borborygmus, flatulence, lack of appetite, slow digestion.
