Functions and indications: Astringes the blood and stops bleeding. better for stopping bleeding but makes it less able to disperse stasis. Used for Chronic incessant hematemesis due to a lession in the stomach network vessels. Chronic incessant hemoptysis due to lung dryness. Bloody stools, bleeding hemorrhoids due to replete heat damage the network vessels of the large intestines.
