Qing Hao 青蒿

Properties: Bitter, Pungent, Cold.

Channels: Liver, Gall bladder.

Functions and indications: Clear deficient heat, eliminate steaming sensation of the bone, and relieve summer-heat, prevent malaria, treat jaundice. Used for damaged yin by pathogenic warmth, night fever abating at dawn, fever due to yin deficiency, steaming bone with consumptive fever, summer heat with fever, cold and heat with malaria, jaundice due to damp heat.

Usage and dosage: 6～12g, decoct last.
