Ren Shen (Bai) 人参(白）

Properties: Sweet, Slightly Bitter, and Slightly Warm.

Channels: Spleen, Lung, Heart, Kidney

Functions and indications: invigorate primordial qi, restore pulse back to normal strength and raise the qi, invigorate the Spleen and benefit the Lung, produce body fluid nourish the blood, calm the mind, promotes brain function. used for getting rid of exhaustion of strength/ weak health, weak pulse and Cold extremities, Spleen deficiency eating less, Lung deficient cough and asthma, deficiency of body fluid thirst, internal heat thirst, deficiency of qi and blood, chronic illness, general debility, palpitations due to fright insomnia, impotence Cold in the uterus.

Usage and dosage: 3-9g, Decoct and serve separately；can be swallowed as powder, once 2g twice a day.

Also referred to as Sheng Shai Shen in some texts.

Caution: not to be used with Li Lu and Wu ling Zhi.
