Zhi Shi (Chao) 炒枳实

Properties: Bitter, Pungent, Sour, Slightly Cold

General Functions and indications: relieve qi stagnation eliminate food stagnation, resolve dampness disperse masses. Used for food stagnation, feeling of fullness distending pain, diarrhoea tenesmus, constipation, stagnation of phlegm obstruction of air, obstruction of qi in the chest, accumulation of pathogens in chest, and prolapse of organs.

Zhi Shi (Chao) 炒枳实 uncooked breaks qi stagnation transforms phlegm. Once processed it Disperses accumulations, relives distention. Used for Epigastric and abdominal distention and pain due to qi and food stagnation and spleen and stomach def with loss of appetite. Diarrhea, dysentery due to food stagnation and damp heat with abdominal pain. Constipation due to heat in the large interesting with abdominal distention, dry, hard stools.

Usage and dosage: 3-10g.
