Tian Nan Xing (zhi) 天南星(制)

Properties: Bitter, Pungent. Warm. Toxic

Channels: Lung, Liver, Spleen

Functions and indications: Dries dampness and resolves phlegm; dispels wind and relieves spasms; disperses nodules and reduces swelling. Used for coughs with stubborn phlegm, dizziness caused by wind-phlegm, stroke with phlegm obstruction, facial paralysis, hemiplegia, epilepsy, infantile convulsions, and tetanus; used externally to treat abscesses and swellings, as well as snake and insect bites.
